a quick day trip & mothers day!

this past weekend we decided to take a day trip to Cape Girardeau.  Some of our very best friends in the whole wide world live in TN (for now… sniff sniff) and are moving to Toledo, OH in three weeks…. for those of you that are doing the math, this means that a quick 4 hours trip (hahahah quick road trip with toddlers, like thats a thing) just turned into a torturous 8 hour car ride ….. cue the crying…. whaaaaaaa hahahahahaha!!!!! Any ways, back to my point.  Cape is just 2 hours exactly for each family to drive to, why have we never done this before is beyond me!  The original plan was for us to meet at a park, but heavy rains that day made us draw up a plan B the night before.  Low and behold we found a children’s play place!  I have to tell you we were not expecting much at all and really just thankful that we were not going to have to set up base camp at the local Starbucks for 4 hours with 4 kids all under the age of 4!  but much to everyones surprise the place was AMAZING!!!!!  the play areas were so well designed and clean and cute…. and to put the cherry on top, we practically had the place to ourselves!  if you are ever in the Cape area and have some time to burn with kiddos i HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend The Discovery PlayHouse!!!

oh you know…. just getting some work done at the office!!!

Lu’s birthday and Baby J’s birthday are both in June, so we decided to kill 2 birds with 1 stone and make it a duel birthday celebration as well!  (The look on R’s face when she discovered she was not getting a gift is just priceless!!!)

i feel like i will be seeing this same photo in 13 years…. only i will be a little less relaxed 🙂

and we actually remembered to get a group shot of all of us!!!!!  we are going to miss you Anderson’s but can’t wait to listen to our screaming children for 8 hours this summer to come visit and see your new digs!

This past weekend happened to be Mothers Day as well ( I hope everyone had a great one)

We had an great morning at church (I didn’t even have to yell at either of my children to get dressed and out the door on time) and then went to brunch with tim family.  the kids were very well behaved at a very long brunch, but by the end they were just done… they are only 3.5 and 19 months after all!  But of course I had the bright idea that I wanted just one good picture of my kids and i while we were dressed so nice….. big mistake, and really, i should have known better!!  the kids both refused, O didn’t want to be touched or held and Lu was just being Lu hahahaha.  this immediately put me into a tense bad mood and i left with a frown on my face and feeling like no one cared about what I want at all.  when in reality, getting a picture with over tired babies, because lets face it…. my kids are very much still babies…. is next to impossible!  In the end, once we got home i was felling much better and then once i uploaded my pictures i have to admit that although these are not the images i had pictured in my mind, I love them with my whole heart because they completely capture the season of life that i am in…… and 20 years down the road i am going to be so thankful to have these silly pictures and laugh at the memory they evoke!
